A Look at Some Fascinating Journeys

Our summer tours of the Bon-Secours archaeological site, always popular with thousands of summer visitors, have started. This year’s theme is Travelling Objects.

People today are increasingly aware of their environmental footprint, and know that the objects we use every day have to travel a long way to get to our homes. That’s also the case for many of the artifacts found on the Bon-Secours archaeological site. These objects tell us that over the many years of its history, far from being isolated, this classified heritage site was in contact with the rest of North America and even the whole world!

What does their presence here in Montreal mean? What trade networks brought them here?

Visitors are also sure to enjoy visiting our temporary exhibition, At Their Risk and Peril, Travelling the Continent in Days of Old, where they can admire some striking objects and marvel at historical accounts.

Is it true that objects do more travelling than humans, even today? The Marguerite Bourgeoys Museum interpreter-guides invite you to join them on this discovery tour for some insight into the question.
